Jimok Choi, an artist based in Berlin, explores the issue of identity through his art practice. As part of the Asian Triennial Manchester, If You Are Not A Bird at the Holden Gallery featured a couple of his works to engage with the idea of questioning the self. In Choi’s practices, he often cuts the object, especially image with frame, into four pieces and reconstructs the pieces with the corner. The inner space therefore becomes unbounded and free from the frame.
